After School Program

The CCBA is deepening its commitment to increasing the quality of educational and recreational programming for youth across the Upper Valley. Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, our after school program (licensed by the New Hampshire Department of Child Care Licensing/DHHS) will integrate evidence-based standards recommended by the Afterschool Alliance.

Our CCBA After School Program will accommodate up to 60 children in kindergarten through sixth grades. Our experienced staff will promote social and emotional learning, and help each child build resilience while promoting kindness, respect, cooperation, problem-solving and community-building. We encourage curiosity and celebrate diversity.

The CCBA After School Program will be housed in the Carter Community Building (CCB). We have recently added two additional washrooms and are renovating our existing ADA bathroom in anticipation of our updated after school program. School buses arrive at the CCB from both Lebanon elementary schools. The middle school has a drop off on Bank Street near AVA, and children walk to the CCB from there.

We look forward to serving as an after school hub for children in downtown Lebanon! We will begin with CCBA-related opportunities as we launch this aspect of the program. For example, should your child be participating in Little Longhorns Basketball, ACES Volleyball, CCBA swim lessons, Lightning Soccer, or ECHO Lacrosse at the CCBA, we will work with those programs to ensure your child is safely transferred from the CCB. We hope this allows your child to expand their opportunities to try new activities! We also plan to include access to other after school program opportunities in downtown Lebanon once we get the program underway.

DAILY PROGRAM COMPONENTS:

  • Arrival, attendance, announcements
  • Healthy snack from your backpack
  • Homework support
  • Mindful Minutes
  • Outdoor play/exploration
  • Indoor gymnasium games
  • Choice time

The CCB offers a game room with tables, board games, and Legos, a lounge area, a quiet space for reading and study, art supplies, books, and a Gymnasium for group physical activity such as kickball, dodgeball and basketball games, as well as an outdoor play structure.

IMPROVEMENT & EVALUATION

We will be consistently adapting to personalize the learning experience for each child. We will actively listen to families’ feedback, and gauge each child’s progress through assessments at enrollment, mid-school year, and at the end of our program.
